I've had the joy of sharing that passion with students of all levels.  My teaching combines technical mastery with creative exploration, empowering students to find their own musical voice. \nI am a professional musician with over 40 years’ experience as well as being a music instructor for over 35 years. This includes being an applied professor for Guitar and bass as well a director/arranger for modern music and contemporary jazz ensembles at Stephen F. Austin State University.  I received my formal education from the prestigious University of North Texas where I obtained my bachelor’s in jazz studies performance and my Masters in Jazz studies Arranging/Composition. \n I currently teach and perform all genres of music including jazz and classical events in and around the DFW area regularly for several performance companies.  I also have been a writer and composer of my own original music for many years. I became certified as a protools engineer in 2008 and currently track, mix, and master my own original music as well as arrange for other artists.
